About Us

My name is Kelly Schmidt I am the founder, owner, breeder, of KS Dobermans. I officially started this journey in 2017 when I acquired  Bella - Distinct N ShoMe's Northerngirl from ShoMe Kennels in St Louis Missouri.  I have been a dog owner all my life and always had a passionate connection to Doberman Pinschers. That passion has turned into a love that is unbreakable and my life's journey. 

Bella was my first Doberman she was shown in the conformation ring in Juniors and professionally handled.

My personal passion is obedience training, scent work, therapy and service training. Corbin and I are a Working K9 Team through the  National Crisis Response Canines .  NCRC's mission is to harness the power of the human & canine bond, to inspire resilience and recovery in people affected by crisis, trauma, or disaster, and the responders who help them. To honor this mission we have gone through many hours of training and certification processes including:

As the owner of KS Dobermans I strive to continuously educate myself in training, breeding practices, K9 physiology, K9 First Aid, and research of the Doberman Pinscher. I am a certified Pet CPR, and First-Aid Instructor educating pet owners to be prepared in an emergency or practical first aid needs.

KS Dobermans breeding program continues to improve for the betterment of the Doberman Pinscher. I believe in health testing and preventative care for all of our Dobermans. 

Most new owners are looking for a puppy that comes from an honest breeder they can trust who provides loving care, healthy puppies, cleanliness, and is educated in the breed.  I take great pride in providing these qualities.

Our puppies are raised in our home and provided 24 hour care. Socialization with our other dogs, children, and interaction in our family life.  I keep detailed records on each puppy from the moment they are born and provide weekly communication with our new families to update, educate and inform them about their puppy. 

When the Puppies are ready to go home at 8 weeks they will have:

I strive to ensure placement with our new families are a good fit by starting with a questionnaire, then scheduling a conversation so we can get to know each other before a final decision is made.  I consider our relationship and communication a priority and hope that we will be a continued support system for the rest of their puppy’s life. 

QUESTIONNAIRE 

We have placed our puppies in family pet homes and show homes across the US, in Canada, and overseas. Currently, we have puppies in Barcelona Spain, Canada, and Hawaii! 

I can provide transportation through KS Dobermans K9 Transport Team.

Training for National Crisis Response Canines

Corbin and I spend many hours training for Crisis response in our community.  Exposing him to the sites and sounds in a  training drill is important for him to be able to respond in a real crisis successfully. We are a Therapy Dog Team with the Alliance of Therapy Dogs. 

Working with my dogs is a win win for both of us, serving our community with my K9 is as good as life gets for me.
